RBA News 2017

For the fourth year running, artwork from Northallerton School & Sixth Form College will be exhibited in the Mall Galleries, London, from 21st March to 1st April 2017. A piece of artwork from Ripon Grammar School has also been selected for exhibition at this prestigious venue.

In addition to being exhibited in the Mall Galleries, the artworks will also appear in a 'Rising Stars'exhibition at the Royal Over-Seas League in Park Place, off St James's Street, from 9th February to 12th March 2017.

As in previous years, Hambleton DFAS submitted a number of high quality Year 13 artworks, this time from four local secondary schools, to the RBA/NADFAS selection panel for their consideration. Nationwide, 41 Societies submitted 284 artworks from 73 schools and only 22 artworks have been selected for display.

On 1st November 2016, Debbie Burrows, Young Arts Rep., was delighted to inform members that the two artworks that have been chosen for exhibition are:
* a pencil portrait, 'Untitled' by a former student of Northallerton School & Sixth Form College, Anna Ridings; and
* a multi-media collage entitled 'Gare du Nord' by former Ripon Grammar School student Emma Beaumont.

Our members are very pleased with this continued success and it is hoped that a number will be able to visit one or other of the exhibitions when they take place next year.
