Young Arts representatives from North East Societies joined those from NADFAS House and the artists themselves at the Mall Galleries, London, on 16th March for a preview of the Royal Society of British Artists/NADFAS exhibition that runs until 2nd April.
In total, 35 works of art were selected for display out of the 348 that were submitted. Works submitted by Hambleton DFAS, Sheffield DFAS and Wensleydale DFAS appeared alongside others from Societies in England, Scotland and Wales plus one from de la Frontera DFAS in Spain.
The collaboration between the RBA and NADFAS to support the RBA Scholars Scheme is intended to encourage and develop students to enhance their artistic aims and ambitions. The quality of the work on display was high and as the President of the RBA said in his opening address, showed promise that young people are continuing to pursue fine art at school and university level. Hopefully, this will produce a new generation of talented professional artists in future years.
